I grew up in South Auckland, where I began my teaching career. After five years of primary teaching, it was time to spread my wings and see the world. I spent two years in Japan teaching English and ten years in Perth teaching ESOL and Music, while also working in the Hospitality and Tourism industry. In 1999, I returned to New Zealand and joined the International Department at KVC.
My main goal is to ensure international students feel welcome and supported at KVC. I am committed to helping students develop their English skills in an environment where they feel valued for who they are. I encourage our students to recognise their individual strengths and build confidence as they move forward positively in their learning and personal growth. I also enjoy creating opportunities for our students to explore Otago and experience its unique outdoor environment.
Outside of work, I enjoy photography, playing the piano, paddle-boarding, mountain biking, and spending time at the beach with my dog. My interests in travel, culture, and the outdoors are closely connected to my commitment to fostering cross-cultural understanding and global awareness within the school community.
