Reporting Absences at Kaikorai Valley College

At Kaikorai Valley College, we believe regular attendance is essential for student success. Being present and engaged in learning every day helps build strong routines, confidence, and achievement. However, we understand that from time to time, students may be absent due to illness, appointments, or other genuine reasons.

If your child will be away, we appreciate it if you let us know as early as possible. This helps the school day run smoothly and ensures we can appropriately support your child. You can contact the office by phone and leave a message for our Attendance Officer, or email us directly at office@kvc.school.nz.

If we haven’t received any notification by 10.30am, we'll send a text message to you. You're welcome to reply to this message with the reason for the absence.

Please make sure to include the reason—whether it’s illness, a medical appointment, family reasons, or travel—so we can keep accurate records. If we don’t hear from you, your child will be marked as truant for the day.
