Kaikorai Valley College- School Sports
At Kaikorai Valley College, we believe in the power of sport to develop healthy, confident, and connected young people. In an age where youth fitness is a growing concern across Aotearoa, we are proud to prioritise participation and physical activity as a key part of our school culture.
Sport is woven into the fabric of our school life. Our dedicated staff, supportive parents, and passionate senior students generously give their time to coach, manage, and encourage teams and individuals at every level. Whether students are just giving something new a go or competing at a high level, we place strong emphasis on both striving to succeed and playing with fairness and integrity.
We are fortunate to have outstanding facilities that support a wide range of sporting opportunities. From our expansive sports fields and outdoor courts for netball and tennis, to our two well-equipped gymnasiums that host numerous indoor codes, students have the resources and support to pursue their sporting passions. Across the school, we celebrate the achievements of our athletes—whether they are representing KVC, competing at a regional level, or reaching national success.
Students at KVC take part in an impressive variety of sports, including athletics, badminton, basketball, cricket, cross country, curling, equestrian, football, hockey, ice hockey, judo, mini-ball, mini-volley, netball, pétanque, rip rugby, rugby, smallbore rifle shooting, softball, table tennis, tennis, touch rugby, volleyball, and water polo.
To help us manage costs and maintain strong sporting programmes, we ask that fees are paid promptly to the Student Office or via internet banking. Payments can be made to Kaikorai Valley College, account number 03 0905 0903706 000. Please include the student’s name in the reference and the sport in the particulars.
We also understand that costs can be a barrier to participation. The "Sporting Chance" fund exists to support families by covering sports fees or providing essential gear. If you would like to apply for assistance or have any questions, please contact our Sports Coordinator, Theresa Johnson, by emailing sport@kvc.school.nz.
Sport at KVC is not just about winning—it’s about belonging, growing, and making lifelong memories.
