Service Groups at Kaikorai Valley College
Service and leadership are at the heart of our school culture. At Kaikorai Valley College, we believe in giving back, stepping up, and making a positive impact—both within our school and in the wider community.
Our service groups offer students a meaningful way to contribute, connect, and lead. Whether through KVC’s Environmental Committee initiatives, Student Councils, Peer Support Mentoring roles, or helping to organise school events, students are empowered to take ownership, show care for others, and demonstrate the values that define us.
Being part of a service group develops teamwork, empathy, responsibility, and a deeper understanding of the world beyond the classroom. These roles are more than just duties—they're opportunities to grow as people and create lasting change.
Service is an expression of our school motto, “Opportunity and Success for All,” and our students take pride in living that out through their actions.
“The SVA is a movement committed to advancing volunteering in all the many ways that it happens. We believe in the power of volunteers and created this program as a way to better recognise volunteers in Aotearoa”
