At Kaikorai Valley College, we offer a broad and engaging curriculum delivered through a diverse range of academic departments. Each department brings subject-specific expertise to our students, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience from Year 7 through to 13.
Our Junior College focuses on Years 7–8, grounding students in core skills while nurturing emerging interests.
Our Digital Technology department equips learners with the skills to thrive in a digital world, blending coding, design, and innovation. While the Our Soft Materials and Hard Materials Technology, fosters confidence in food preparation, textiles, design and craftmanship
The Drama, Visual Art, and Music departments foster hands-on creativity, design, stage presence and rock bands. Inspiring creativity and confidence through performance and production.
In English and Media Studies, students develop language skills, critical thinking, and media literacy, while English as a Second Language (ESOL) supports learners for whom English is additional to ensure they succeed across all subjects.
The Languages department opens up global perspectives through te reo Māori, Japanese, and other language studies.
The Mathematics department challenges students to reach their full potential, offering extension and support classes, as well as opportunities to explore real world maths through projects like our Urban Farm.
The Physical Education and Sport department encourages fitness, teamwork, and wellbeing through diverse sporting opportunities. Education Outside the Classroom provides experiential learning opportunities, from tramping to kayaking, connecting students with nature
